Jobless claims, housings starts, factory data point to U.S. recovery

Reports on falling unemployment claims, rising housing starts and accelerating factory output suggest that the U.S. economic recovery is taking hold. Initial jobless claims declined last week to their lowest level in nearly four years, the Labor Department said. Housing starts rose 1.5% in January, and manufacturing picked up in the Mid-Atlantic region.
