Report: Kindle Fire was king of the Android pack in Q4

Amazon has closely guarded sales figures for its Kindle Fire tablet, but research firm IHS iSuppli estimates the company shipped 3.89 million units in the fourth quarter, becoming the top-selling maker of Android tablets. IHS reported that while Apple retained a 57% share of the global tablet market -- a decline from 64% the previous quarter -- Amazon grew from nothing to 14% while Samsung slipped from 11% to 8%, even as its tablet shipments rose 16% in the quarter.
