Survey shows care coordination is key quality challenge

A survey of health care CEOs found 30% listed care coordination as a top challenge for improving quality, and William Jacobsen of Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount, Va., said addressing it will require an "army of care coordinators." The survey also found 60% of CEOs said increasing the scope of practice for nurses would improve quality.
