HHS inspector general to step up EHR security oversight

The HHS Office of Inspector General has said it will continue to assess meaningful use among eligible professionals and facilities in fiscal year 2014, noting that it will examine data going back to 2011 to uncover whether payments were made to those who did not achieve MU. The OIG also plans to step up oversight of the initiative and perform security audits of certified EHR technology.
