Study: Companies plan pay raises to retain top talent

Companies are becoming more concerned about holding on to star performers as the job market improves. Research from PayScale indicates that about 60% of business owners consider retention to be a key consideration, compared with 28% in 2009. As a result, about 9 in 10 companies in the survey signaled that they plan to increase wages.
