Toyota to align U.S. marketing department into product teams

Toyota is reorganizing its U.S. marketing department into vertical teams that will each be responsible for a single product line, said Jack Hollis, vice president of marketing at Toyota Motor Sales USA. As part of the revamp, 80 employees will be asked to reapply for new positions, although no reduction in number of employees is expected. "My desire was to have more of a brand focus on every vehicle, where every product team was in charge, from strategy and launch, through life cycle to minor changes," Hollis said.
