Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., has been confirmed as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee after the retirement of Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., making him a key lawmaker in Congress' potential pursuit of tax reform. Wyden is seen as detail-oriented and favorable to a slower reform process, but changes to the ad tax deduction are thought to still be on the table, said Dan Jaffe of the Association of National Advertisers. "Anyone who presumes it will come to a standstill, doesn't know Wyden. He is willing to take on big ideas," Jaffe said.
