DVR makers gear up for HDTV

HDTV images are 1,920 pixels by 1,080, versus 500x225 for analog TV, so DVR makers are preparing next-generation boxes with beefier hard drives capable of storing increased amounts of information. Content makers say next-generation DVRs must protect digital content with specialized chips and encryption technologies.
