DOE cleanup budget may take a hit

The Department of Energy is spending more money lately on contracts for the clean up of contaminated sights. The agency recently agreed to pay BNFL $550 million to resolve contract issues at two former weapons production cleanup sites. Meanwhile, President Bush has proposed cutting the agency's fiscal budget by almost the same amount.
