Miami board rejects ban on sodas

The Miami-Dade School Board yesterday voted down a proposed ban on the sale of carbonated beverages in schools, although it tasked schools chief Rudy Crew to perform a feasibility study on limiting soda sales and improving nutrition education. Members thought barring soda sales would result in regulating students rather than educating them about making healthy food choices.
