Paid searches up for Google, Yahoo!

Paid searches increased for both Yahoo! and Google, according to data from Nielsen//NetRatings' AdRelevance unit. Yahoo!'s numbers for paid searches increased 21% from August to 23.2 billion links last month, while Google's sponsored links on its search results page and publisher network (excluding Froogle, Image Search and other Google properties) increased 14% to 41 billion during the same time period.
