Personalizing Holocaust may be too traumatic, some fear

Every French fifth-grader will learn the life story of one of the country's 11,000 children killed during the Holocaust, beginning next fall, French President Nicolas Sarkozy has announced. While Sarkozy and education leaders say the plan will help children better relate to the tragedy, others fear the lessons could traumatize students and create religious tension.
