The biotech industry requires vital changes in government policies instead of a bailout because most companies operate mainly as "science projects" that would benefit more from increased funding than keeping their infrastructure, writes Stephanie Marrus, a life sciences management consultant. The government could help the sector by choosing a respected FDA leader and refraining from drug-price controls, Marrus writes.
