Exit of key official signals HHS secretary has been chosen

HHS Chief of Staff Mark Childress is expected to step down from his post, signaling that the Obama administration might have decided on a new leader for the agency. The timing of Childress' exit, along with other factors including a canceled meeting between Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius and Kansas lawmakers, seem to indicate that Sebelius is the top contender for HHS chief, according to the RPM Report. Also being considered for the post are Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen and John Podesta, president of the Center for American Progress.
