NBCT says application process improved his teaching

A National Board Certified Teacher in Georgia says the application process improved his teaching so much that he was named this year's High School Teacher of the Year in Gwinnett County. However, Todd Shultz says he now feels betrayed by state officials who are considering ending bonuses for NBCTs and instead giving pay raises to Master Teachers. "Based on this recent conduct, why should Georgia educators trust that if they accomplish their end of the bargain, the state will fulfill theirs," Shultz asks in a recent letter to the editor.
