Web-based programs help diabetics manage blood sugar

Giving diabetics online tools to manage their disease can substantially improve long-term blood sugar control, according to a study by Group Health Cooperative in Seattle. Researchers said clinic visits alone aren't enough help for many diabetics. They found that one year into the Web-based management program, 33% of participants had their blood sugar under control, compared with 11% of those who weren't in the program.
