Hulu.com in January rose to No. 4 in unique visits among Web video channels, but its popularity could be short-lived because the site, a partnership between NBC Universal and News Corp, only has a two-year exclusive on shows from its parent networks. Hulu reportedly may have to add new search, chat and other community tools to withstand competition from rivals, including Yahoo! TV, the fastest-growing video site in January, and TV.com, which includes Hulu as one of its channels.
