IADB raises Haiti earthquake damages estimate to $14B

The Inter-American Development Bank raised its estimates on total damage from Haiti's recent earthquake from $8 billion to $14 billion, making it proportionally one of the most expensive disasters in history. Haitian President Rene Preval said the recovery should not be "to reconstruct Haiti, but to rethink and remodel it."
