Minnesota district sends coaches into the field ahead of state tests

Minnesota's St. Paul school district is deploying a team of educational coaches to help students improve math and reading skills ahead of standardized testing in April. The coaches are senior teachers with subject expertise who will work with small groups of students chosen by each targeted school to receive the extra help. District officials hope the coaches will help schools reach their goal of a 10-percentage-point boost in math and reading test scores this year.
