Stimulus creates more construction jobs than once thought

Federal-stimulus funds have saved or created more construction jobs than previously thought, according to the Associated General Contractors of America. "The stimulus is one of the very few bright spots the construction industry experienced last year and is one of the few hopes keeping it going in 2010," said Ken Simonson, AGC chief economist. Contractors are likely to handle more stimulus-funded jobs in 2010, as projects move beyond transportation work.
