Study: Different types of cancer share genetic abnormalities

A U.S. study showed that missing DNA and other genetic changes that play a role in the development of a specific type of cancer also are present in various forms of tumors. The study suggests that drugmakers might be better off developing treatments that target several types of cancer instead of drugs that focus on one form.
