Wearable clothes take over N.Y. runways

Designers are ditching the outrageous in favor of more wearable clothes, with elegant dresses, clean lines and simple suits gracing runways at New York's Fashion Week. With industry sales continuing to struggle, designers such as Marc Jacobs and Vera Wang and retailers including Macy's and Saks are hoping the less-splashy clothes as well as lower-priced lines will translate to bigger business.
