Cognitive stimulation therapy effective for dementia patients

An analysis of 15 studies showed that cognitive stimulation therapy, including playing board games and baking, improves memory and higher-level thinking in dementia patients. Patients with mild to moderate dementia who received cognitive stimulation therapy had significantly higher scores in cognitive function tests and generally appeared happier to caregivers. The findings appear in The Cochrane Library.
