Recording billable hours can be an unpleasant process, but small firms should take the opportunity to demonstrate the value they are providing to clients, writes Tom Wallerstein of Colt Wallerstein. "Each entry should have enough detail to not only justify the time claimed, but also to show the value received," he writes. Invoices also should show clients how firms are progressing on particular legal matters, he writes.
