Why Chrome is more than just a browser

Google's Chrome development team is taking an aggressive approach to evolving their product, using a revolutionary silent-update system to roll out frequent incremental improvements. That's put Chrome at the bleeding edge of not just HTML5 but also nonstandard technologies such as Native Client and Dart, helping to turn it into a Web-app platform rather than a mere browser, writes Neil McAllister.
