College basketball made me a better boss, says Ariel Investments CEO

John W. Rogers Jr., chairman and CEO of Ariel Investments, got his start as a leader while he was a captain of Princeton's basketball team. Though he wasn't the best player, he says, coach Pete Carril helped him see the value in helping others succeed -- a skill that's stayed with Rogers as he's moved into the business world. "It was just transformative. It changed my life," he says.
