Imaging center's second-opinion portal gives patients another option

The Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix has established an online portal for patients to upload medical images for a virtual second opinion, and the system led to 30 referrals and six surgeries in its first 30 days. Neuroradiologist Dr. John Karis explains the program's development, technology considerations and other factors to weigh when looking at investing in such a tool.
