Mother's voice in special pacifier improves oral feeding in preemies

The use of an FDA-approved pacifier that rewards premature babies for sucking properly with a prerecorded lullaby from their mother was linked to improved oral feeding skills, according to a study in the journal Pediatrics. Compared with the control group, the musical-pacifier group ate twice as fast and twice as much and graduated to exclusive oral feedings a week earlier.
