Campbell gives soups low-sodium makeover

Campbell Soup Co. has reduced the sodium content in its 12 children's soups for the second time in three years in response to growing consumer demand for more nutritious food options. The lower-sodium soups contain 480 mg of salt per serving and can be legally labeled as healthy foods. The company also is lowering sodium levels of its 36 ready-to-serve soups. Campbell will introduce the lower-salt varieties under the Campbell's Select Harvest brand name by the fall.
