Experimental learning lab would offer individualized instruction to all

Washington, D.C., schools may hire a private special-education school to run an experimental program that groups children with special needs, gifted students and mainstream learners into the same classroom, while providing customized lessons to meet each student's differing needs. This differentiated-learning laboratory is being proposed by D.C. Schools Chancellor Michelle A. Rhee as a key piece of her plan to try and lower special-education costs.
