Computer algorithm determines proper dose of warfarin

An international team of researchers developed a computer algorithm that accurately pinpoints those who would need a higher or lower dose of the blood thinner warfarin. The technique, which was created using clinical and genetic data from 4,043 patients, can help doctors prevent blood clots or severe bleeding associated with improper dosage, the researchers said.
