Maryland's governor to spend on transit and schools

In his plan for Maryland's $3.8 billion estimated share of the stimulus package, Gov. Martin O'Malley is expected to propose that $350 million be spent on transportation projects, while making the funding of public schools the state's next priority. More than $600 million could be available over the next two years to help preserve roads, bridges and transit lines.
