New dairy drinks tout health benefits

"Convenience" claims are still used to promote dairy drinks, but health claims -- such as those that tout benefits to the gut or a reduction in fat and sugar -- are becoming important drivers, one expert says. "Manufacturers who can tap into this sector with tailored health-benefit messages that can be substantiated with scientific proof will continue to see increased market development and penetration this year and beyond."
