Officials in Louisiana town push Army Corps to start levee project

Officials in Grand Isle, La., are putting pressure on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to start work on a reinforced levee designed to protect the island from storm surges. Mayor David Camardelle hopes to seek bids on the $45 million federal project next month. His goal is to have the levee in place by Aug. 1, before the start of hurricane season.
