Battle for brides heats up

Online wedding publisher The Knot is ramping up its publication schedule in a move that appears to target rival Brides magazine. Condé Nast, which owns Brides, recently shuttered related titles Elegant Bride and Modern Bride. The category is undergoing some contraction overall and is losing advertising, according to the Publishers Information Bureau.
