Computer companies mull strategies in wake of iPad launch

Computer companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Dell, Sony and Acer are watching the early success of Apple's iPad tablet computer as they gauge their own future strategies for similar devices, according to this report. HP, in fact, apparently will hold top-level meetings within the next few weeks about a tablet-esque, keyboardless computer that would be called Slate.
