Hasty exit halts screening at Newark

Terminal A security screening at Newark Liberty International Airport was halted for about an hour on Monday after a passenger flagged for secondary screening unknowingly walked away from the area. A TSA spokeswoman said X-rays showed the man appeared to have wine bottles in his carry-on bag, in violation of the 3-ounce limit. Though the passenger was never located, "we did halt screening for an hour in an attempt to locate him, and we deployed officers at the gate to gate-screen passengers on all flights that were boarding, once screening started up again," she noted.
