Host Hotels revenue slumps but beats analysts' expectations

Amid continuing economic uncertainty, Host Hotels & Resorts posted a fourth-quarter revenue decline of 16.8% to $1.33 billion, while operating costs declined by about 6% compared with the same quarter a year ago. The company said its revenue per available room declined 14.6% and its funds from operations dropped to 24 cents a share from 52 cents in the same quarter a year earlier. Analysts expected 19 cents.
