Judge rules against Kentucky district in special-education lawsuit

A Kentucky circuit court judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by Fayette County Public Schools that sought to overturn a state finding that the district incorrectly handled students with learning disabilities. The original complaint was filed by an advocacy group on behalf of 12 students that it said were refused educational services. The state found that the district violated regulations with seven of the students and in 17 additional cases.
