TIGER funding offers boost to NS, CSX freight projects

The announcement of $1.5 billion in federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery funds will benefit the nation's freight rail system. Allocations include $98 million to CSX's National Gateway Freight Corridor in Ohio and Pennsylvania and $105 million for Alabama and Tennessee stretches of Norfolk Southern's Crescent Corridor.
