Quora's biggest challenger for the social Q-and-A crown could be Twitter itself, thanks to InboxQ, a browser plugin that uses language-processing software to let users find, post and answer questions on Twitter, notes Alexia Tsotsis. The tool will also help brands locate and reach out to people asking questions connected to their products and services. "How valuable would it be for the @BestBuy Twitter account to be able to offer immediate tech support when someone asks a question about product installation? Or the @DKNY Twitter account to offer spot advice to someone wondering about the perfect 'little black dress'?" Tsotsis asks.
