Research cites more intense winter storms, but reduced snowfall

Studies show that the U.S. has experienced less overall snowfall but more severe winter storms in recent decades, a trend that scientists think will continue because of climate change. "Shorter snow season, less snow overall, but the occasional knockout punch. That's the new world we live in," said Michael Oppenheimer of Princeton University.
