With sequester near, defense companies plan layoffs

Defense contractors are bracing for the effect of sequestration, which is scheduled to take effect March 1, and some already are projecting the jobs they'll cut as a result. BAE Systems estimates that it will eliminate 4,000 jobs in the next year, and small defense firms may have the earliest layoffs.
