Chlorhexidine baths lower MRSA acquisition in ICU, study says

The rate of MRSA acquisition decreased 20.68% after ICU patients were given daily baths using a chlorhexidine-based soap, compared with no significant changes in a control unit, researchers reported in the journal Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology. The study found a 20.77% decline in all S. aureus infections in the intervention unit.
