Congress' Farm Bill statement asks agencies to remove obstacles for olive oil industry

Congress' "explanatory statement" on the Farm Bill urges the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Trade Representative and U.S. Food and Drug Administration to eliminate obstacles for the U.S. olive oil industry. These obstacles are outlined in a 2013 report from the U.S. International Trade Commission on olive oil competitiveness. The USDA should also consider a marketing order for olive oil, the statement says.
