Hedge funds will reach a record $3 trillion in assets by the end of this year, compared with $2.6 trillion at the end of 2013, according to a survey of hedge fund investors by Deutsche Bank. Increasingly, institutional investors are viewing hedge funds as viable mainstream investments. In addition, most investors have been pleased with the returns. The survey found that 80% of respondents felt that hedge funds did "as expected or better" in 2013.
