New Rules Support Brownfield Transformation

New rules limiting liability and an influx of funding assured by the new Small Business Liability Relief and Brownfields Revitalization Act is making it easier for brownfields to be reclaimed. Cash-strapped states are looking to return blighted properties, often in desirable locations, to the tax rolls. Successful projects include an abandoned railroad site that now houses a football stadium and an old steel mill site that is to be converted to a multi-use development.
