Culinary explosion transforms Peru's tourism industry

Superstar chefs and refined, spicy foods have turned Lima, Peru, into a culinary hot spot -- so much so that the city now even offers a tour called Culinary Tour Peru. Trendy dining establishments and specialty offerings, such as aji chili, cooked cebiche, pisco sour cocktails and other classic Peruvian dishes, are expected to boost Peru's tourism by 10% this year, one tour operator said, while Peruvian chefs who work abroad are drawing additional attention to their country's cuisine.
