Australian central bank considered larger rate rise

Australia's central bank considered raising interest rates by as much as 0.5% earlier this month before deciding on a quarter of a percentage point, minutes of the bank's last board meeting reveal. The Reserve Bank of Australia also debated whether more rate increases beyond the current 7% will be needed in coming months.
