Big Dig interest rates could cause Mass. tolls to rise

The Massachusetts Turnpike Authority may be forced to raise tolls on highways due to the state's failure to sell auction-rate securities that were backed by a division of Ambac Financial Group. Due to the inability to sell the securities, the state is consequently spending an additional $300,000 a month in interest on $126.7 million it borrowed for the Big Dig project.
